Mac and Windows

The editor window: the kit list down the left, the selected kit's nine pads, trigger inputs and footswitches in the middle with the selected pad's two waves under them, the pad's sensitivity, velocity curve, threshold, outputs and LED settings on the right, and a Save a new backup button in the top bar.

How it works

  1. Back up the pad to a USB stick

The pad saves your kits and samples as one file.

  2. Edit the backup here

Change kits, pads and samples, then save a new backup.

  3. Load it back on the pad

Loading replaces the kits on the pad, so start from your latest backup.

What you can edit

The kit editor: the kit's name with a pencil beside it, its level, tempo, time signature and logo settings, a preview switch, then nine pad cards in three rows with their sounds and A and B wave chips, and the external trigger inputs and footswitches beside them.

Kits

Every pad, layer, effect and setting of a kit on one screen.

  • The nine pads in the same layout as the pad
  • Six effects, picked by name
The pad panel: sensitivity, velocity curve, threshold and fixed level as knobs with their numbers, then pad mode, sound, audio output, kit FX level, MIDI note, play color, LED play mode, play beat, stop color, LED stop mode, stop beat, sync group and sync mode as named choices.

Pad settings

Sensitivity, velocity curve, LED colors and the rest, each with a note on what it does.

  • Only the values the pad itself offers
  • Copy a whole pad onto another
The Copy kits from panel beside the kit list: the kits of another backup, each marked with whether its samples come with it, ready to drop into a slot of the open backup.

Copy kits between backups

Take a kit from an old backup or the factory presets. Your other kits stay as they are.

  • Samples come with the kit
  • Drop it into any of the 70 slots
The samples panel, listing all eight user samples: a sample's name, format and how many pads use it, its waveform with the trim handles, start, end and length, a grid and tempo to snap to, and buttons to play the trim, play all and normalize.

Your own samples

Add your sounds, name them and trim them.

  • Any WAV file, converted the way the pad converts it
  • Trim to a grid and a tempo
  • See which pads use each sample
The Warp dialog: from 128 to 120 BPM, and a note that the sample is on 4 pads and changes on all of them.

Fit loops to the kit’s tempo

Warp makes a loop faster or slower and keeps its pitch.

  • Type the loop’s tempo and the one you want
  • Or use the Speed button, which changes the tempo and the pitch together
The sample picker for wave A of pad 2 with snare typed in its search box, listing the matching samples.

Find any sound by name

Type part of a name and pick from your own samples and the pad’s 8,000 factory sounds.

I’ve played a Strike MultiPad since 2019. Building kits on its screen was slow, and loading an old backup meant losing the kits I’d made since. So I wrote the editor I wanted.

No, it’s independent.
